Klopp: We respect Forest and our focus is only on them

Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool’s coach, announced before his team’s match with Nottingham Forest that both teams will depend on a lot.

It is an understatement to say that the players from “Anfield” were disappointed this season.

The team that fought for titles in all competitions until last year, was far from winning any trophies this year.

However, the season is not over yet, and the “Reds” want to save what can be saved.

“We’ve had an average season so far, yet we’ve managed to record some of the most convincing wins in the club’s history.” And I think that’s weird. After the Leeds game, I said I thought it was the best game we played this season. We have been very stable throughout and that is what is important, what we need to build on. “I can’t guarantee that kind of result, but I should be able to guarantee that kind of level of play,” Klopp said at the start of the conference.

“We have to be ready for the fact that we won’t always score a goal early, but also for the fact that we always have to face all the difficulties that a single match can bring,” added the German, emphasizing the importance of the match against Nottingham:

“It is important first of all to show how much respect we have for Nottingham Forest.” Forest is in a difficult situation, they are fighting for their lives, and for them, every point is extremely important. And if they can get three points, it would be incredible for them. We know that and respect their team. There is nothing friendly about this match, we have to be ready to fight and take advantage of the fact that we are playing at Anfield,” said Klopp.

As he says, victories in the next rounds are not necessary to save the season when it comes to Liverpool.

“The only chance we have to get through this season is to win an awful lot of matches.” If we don’t do that, and I don’t even want to talk about what can happen if we don’t win the next four games… So, the focus is only on Nottingham,” concluded the German.
