KLOPP CALM AFTER THE VICTORY: It's half time, nothing else

Liverpool football coach Jurgen Klopp said that only the first half of the duel against Inter was over and revealed that he was worried about Diogo Jota’s injury.

Liverpool beat Inter 2-0 in Milano, in the first game of the eighth-finals of the Champions League, thanks to the goals of Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah in the final.

Klopp admitted that it was not the best edition of his team, because Inter tested them all the time, but that the European experience of the “reds” decided.

However, the only drawback of the victory was the injury of Jota’s ankle, who scored 17 goals in all competitions this season. He was replaced by Firmino at halftime.

– It’s halftime, nothing else. It will be inconvenient and we must be ready for that. They played well, they played differently, but they are really good and that is why this is only half time – said Klopp, British media reported.

– And since it is only the first half, I can’t tell the guys that the job is done and that they can ‘lift all four up’. This is an awkward result – Klopp added.

He stated that his team did not have a great day.

– But he was good enough to deservedly win because we scored two wonderful goals. I am really satisfied with everything, except that Diogo had to leave the game – said the Liverpool coach.

– He could play, which may be a good sign. But, the wrist swelled at half time and we had to replace it, “Klopp added.

The rematch of the eighth-finals of the Champions League between Liverpool and Inter will be played on March 8 at Anfield
