João Félix set to join Al-Nassr in £44m Saudi Move

João Félix’s time in English football appears to be over as the Portuguese forward prepares to complete a €50 million transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, where he will join forces with compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.

The deal will see Chelsea receive an initial fee of €31 million, with potential add-ons bringing the total closer to €51 million. Félix joined Chelsea permanently from Atlético Madrid in 2024 for a similar fee, having first appeared on loan during the second half of the 2022-23 season.

Despite high expectations, the 25-year-old struggled to make an impact during his time in England. Across two spells, Félix made 28 appearances, scoring just five goals. His brief return this past season ended with another loan, this time to AC Milan in January, after failing to secure regular minutes under Enzo Maresca.

Félix’s role at Chelsea became increasingly uncertain following the arrivals of Liam Delap, João Pedro, and Jamie Gittens, which pushed him further down the pecking order.

Now, he is set to restart his career in Saudi Arabia, where Al-Nassr hope his creative spark and link-up with Ronaldo, both represented by agent Jorge Mendes, can reignite his form.

The move is another indication of Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to lure top European talent, and for Félix, it offers a chance to reset his career after a frustrating chapter in English football.
