Terrible news flooded the media last week when it was revealed that Achille Polonara had been diagnosed with a testicular tumor.
Today, however, it was confirmed that the Italian underwent a successful operation, and that he will have to go through a post-operative recovery phase before returning to training at Virtus from Bologna.
Polonara played three times for Virtus this season and averaged six points and seven and a half rebounds.
In the past, the wing center played for Žaligiris, and this summer he was the target of numerous clubs, among them Serbian ones.
