Barcelona is reportedly eyeing a move for Fenerbahçe’s 18-year-old midfielder, Arda Guler.
The Turkish prodigy has made 23 appearances for the Istanbul-based club this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in just over 700 minutes of play.
According to journalist Matteo Moretto, English and German clubs have recently ramped up their pursuit of Guler, but Barcelona is said to have changed its transfer policy to focus on acquiring promising young players, like the Turkish national team member.
Although Guler’s market value is 11 million euros, Fenerbahce is said to be holding out for at least 20 million euros, as his contract with the club runs until 2025.
Should Guler join Barcelona, he would be part of the team’s rebuilding process after a string of expensive transfers last year. However, the young midfielder will face stiff competition for a starting spot in a team already boasting a plethora of talented midfielders.
