Facilitating news for Atletico Madrid – Antoine Griezmann will play against Milan in the upcoming game in the Champions League, as his suspension has been reduced from two games to one.
UEFA has announced that it has accepted Athletic’s appeal for Griezmann to complete a mandatory one-match suspension due to a red card he received last month in a match against Liverpool (2: 3).
Griezmann was then sent off after kicking Roberto Firmino in the head after he raised his leg in an attempt to reach the ball. The Frenchman scored two goals in that match.
Griezmann missed the game at Anfield because of that red card, where Liverpool won 2-0.
Atletico will play against Milan, the game of the fifth round in the Champions League, on Wednesday at 9 pm in Madrid.
Liverpool is first on the table with all four victories and advanced to the round of 16. Second, on the table of Group B is Porto with five points, Atletico has four, and Milan one point.
