Spain remain top of the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, with world champions Argentina and France close behind. Brazil have climbed two places to fifth, overtaking Portugal and the Netherlands, while Italy dropped out of the top 10 to 12th after a 4-1 home defeat to Norway. Croatia have returned to the top 10, moving up to 10th.
The latest ranking follows 149 national team matches, including 74 friendlies. The USA climbed two places to 14th, becoming the top-ranked Concacaf side ahead of co-host Mexico (15th). Other notable rises include Nigeria (38th), Tunisia (40th) and Uzbekistan (50th), which has returned to the top 50 after nine years. Smaller nations also made gains, with Malta, the Philippines, Turkmenistan and Kosovo moving up several spots.
The FIFA World Cup 2026, hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States, will see the remaining six spots decided through the Play-Off Tournament and European Play-Offs, with draws set for 20 November in Zurich.
