France have climbed back to the top of the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking for the first time since September 2018.
Les Bleus moved up two places after recording two wins in their most recent friendlies, overtaking Spain and reigning world champions Argentina, who dropped to second and third respectively.

The latest ranking period brought a number of changes across the international scene, with 166 men’s internationals played since the previous update as the race for the final places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup came to an end.
Portugal also moved up to fifth place, swapping positions with Brazil, while there were no changes elsewhere in the top 10.

Among the notable movers inside the top 50 were Türkiye, Côte d’Ivoire, Sweden and Tunisia, while Bosnia and Herzegovina also enjoyed a significant rise after sealing qualification for this year’s World Cup.
Further down the rankings, Vietnam registered the biggest rise in places by climbing nine spots, while Malaysia suffered the sharpest drop.
With qualification for the 2026 World Cup now complete, only three of the top 30-ranked nations will miss out on the tournament, namely Italy, Denmark and Nigeria.
Kosovo, meanwhile, reached their highest ever position in the men’s rankings despite missing out on qualification in the European play-offs.
The next edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking will be published on 10 June 2026.
