Malta’s national Blackball team arrived home yesterday evening after competing in the European Championships in Ennis, Ireland.
It was a very successful trip for the Maltese players, who took part in several categories and won four gold medals and three silver medals. Around 1,200 players took part in the event, making it a demanding ten days. Despite the challenges, the Maltese athletes performed strongly and showed once again that Maltese Blackball remains at a top level.
When they arrived at Malta International Airport, the team was welcomed by a warm crowd. Philip Gatt, president of the Malta Blackball Federation, presented commemorative gifts to the gold-medal winners and praised the whole group for bringing pride to Malta.
