Ħamrun 147 sealed a remarkable treble of successes in the Blackball Easter competitions after defeating Cospicua Rangers 13-11 to win the National Easter Trophy.
This marked the club’s third title of the Easter period, following earlier triumphs by their Team B in the Regional Easter Trophy and Team D in the Community Easter Trophy.
The final brought together the country’s two leading Blackball sides and delivered a highly competitive encounter. Cospicua Rangers made a strong start, opening up an early 5-1 advantage. However, Ħamrun showed resilience and determination, recovering to level the score at 5-5 before the interval.

From that point onwards, the contest remained finely balanced, with both teams exchanging the lead on several occasions. With the score tied at 10-10, additional sessions were required, where Ħamrun produced decisive performances to secure victory.
The match was officiated by referee Ephraim Calleja.
Ħamrun 147 were represented by Leon Azzopardi, Dejan Grech, Owen Amato, Philip Coleiro and Stephen Mangion, under the guidance of coach Clayton Castaldi.
Cospicua Rangers featured coach Johan Attard alongside Clint Grima, Kevin Schembri, Clayton Attard, Ryan Pisani, Warren Falzon, Wayne Pace, Miguel Amato, Scott Muscat and Gary Carr.
Celebrations followed at the final whistle, culminating in captain Clayton Castaldi receiving the trophy on behalf of Ħamrun 147 from a representative of the Malta Blackball Federation.
