Four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal answered questions for the American media, and in particular, who was his worst teammate in his career was highlighted.
He answered without hesitation-Dennis Rodman!
These two players played together for the Lakers in the 1998/99 season.
“Dennis was a great player, but he made many things in the team difficult.” He would do stupid things because he was allowed to do anything while we were building team chemistry and trying to form a good group.If we had to come to a meeting an hour before the match, he would come 15 minutes before.
He would eat chicken with rice, which I remember. While the coaches were giving us instructions for the game in the locker room, he was in the shower because he was supposedly cold. And then he would go out on the field and catch 15-20 balls! ” O’Neal added.
Rodman played only 23 games for the Lakers during the shortened 1998/99 season so that the next one would be the last of his career.
