Luka Doncic was desperate after being eliminated from the Eurobasket.
The Slovenians handed over the crown of champions of the Old Continent, and Poland will have the opportunity to fight for the title of the best team in Europe.
This failure hit Doncic very hard:
- Congratulations to Poland, they played great from the first minute to the last and this is a great success for them. We had a bad start to the match, we had no energy, we came back, but Poland managed to fight back – Doncic started, then continued about his health condition:
- I’m probably not at 100 percent, I received an injection in the back in the third quarter. That’s no excuse though, I played desperately and I let my team down and the whole country that supported us. I’m sad we didn’t go further, but this is a great competition. Defeat is hard for me, because I like to play for Slovenia. We all fought and these defeats hurt a lot. We could have fought for a medal, I don’t know what to say.
Dončić also touched the judge:
- I don’t know what to say about the judges. I will always play for Slovenia, whenever I can and if I’m healthy – I disappointed the team and the whole nation… I have to be better – concluded Luka Doncic, who also praised Ponitka, whom he said is probably an NBA player.
Poland will play against France in the semi-finals of Eurobasket, while Germany and Spain will meet in the second semi-final.
