Javonte Smart, the new addition to Red Star Meridianbet, has completed his first practice with the team ahead of the clash with Baskonia in the 22nd round of the EuroLeague.
As he stated, his initial impressions are excellent.
“It’s great. I arrived yesterday, checked into the hotel, and now I’m at the first practice. I’m ready to play well and win,” said Smart, continuing, “I love to create the game, also for my teammates, I love to play in transition, and most importantly, I love to win.”
Smart has already received several pieces of advice on how to quickly adapt to European basketball.
“I know a few players who are already in Europe, who came from the US, who gave me some advice. But I can’t reveal who they are.”
The American is also familiar with the atmosphere in the stands and eagerly anticipates stepping out in front of Red Star’s fans.
“Yes, many people have sent me videos of the fans. It’s going to be crazy tomorrow,” concluded Smart.
As a reminder, Red Star Meridianbet will host Baskonia in the 22nd round of the EuroLeague tomorrow at 19:00.
