The second pick in this year’s NBA draft, Chet Holmgren, suffered a serious injury that will cause him to miss the entire upcoming season.
He suffered an injury during one of the preseason games, and although it didn’t seem that serious at first, additional analysis showed that it was one of the most serious in basketball.
The American media in the USA reports that Holmgren tore ligaments in his foot and that he will have a long recovery, which is very bad news for the Oklahoma City Thunder team that drafted the American center.
The new season in the NBA starts on October 19, and it seems that the ambitions of “Lightning” will have to be modest this season as well.
– We’re disappointed for Chet, considering how much he couldn’t wait to hit the floor. We know he has a long career ahead of him here. When we chose him, he impressed us by being determined and focused. We hope that these qualities will carry him through his recovery – said general manager Sam Presti.
