Today, the organising committee for the ASA’s 100th anniversary proudly presented the official commemorative water polo balls to ASA president Karl Izzo. Featuring the centenary logo, these specially branded balls will be used in both the men’s and women’s Summer League competitions.
During the same presentation, the committee also unveiled new silicone swim caps, similarly adorned with the centenary logo, which will be available for athletes across all aquatic disciplines.
Claudio Azzopardi, chairperson of the organising committee, explained the symbolic significance of the items. “The water polo ball and the swim cap are iconic representations of aquatic sports,” he said, while thanking fellow committee members for their dedication. “This is just the first of many exciting initiatives we will be launching throughout this centenary year.”
President Karl Izzo expressed his gratitude to the committee for their voluntary efforts and welcomed the initiative, confirming that the commemorative balls will be used in official league play this summer.
Both the limited-edition water polo balls and the silicone swim caps will be available for purchase this week during the Champions League Final 4 at the National Pool.
