FIFA has announced a limited release of $60 ‘Supporter Entry Tier’ tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, aiming to make the tournament more accessible for fans of qualified teams. The discounted tickets will cover all 104 matches, including the final, organisers confirmed on Tuesday.
The new ticket category will account for 10 per cent of each Participating Member Association’s (PMA) allocation. PMAs, which represent the competing national teams and manage fan ticket programmes, will oversee the allocation process and determine eligibility criteria to prioritise supporters closely connected to their national teams.
FIFA stated that half of each PMA’s ticket allocation will fall within the most affordable categories, with 40 per cent offered under the existing Supporter Value Tier and 10 per cent under the new Supporter Entry Tier. The remaining tickets will be split evenly between the Supporter Standard Tier and the Supporter Premier Tier.
Fans applying through PMA ticket programmes whose teams do not progress to the knockout stages will have administrative fees waived when requesting refunds.
The announcement follows ongoing debate over ticket pricing ahead of the 2026 tournament, scheduled to take place from 11 June to 19 July across Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Last week, Football Supporters Europe criticised FIFA for what it described as “extortionate” ticket prices that could limit access for average supporters.
Despite these concerns, FIFA reported strong interest in the third phase of ticket sales, which opened on 11 December and will remain available until 13 January. This surge in demand has been driven by the release of official match schedules, venues, and kick-off times.
