PESIC: It's hard for Real to win all 3 games, and for Partizan to lose them

Serbian coach Svetislav Pesic spoke about Partizan’s chances against Real Madrid in the Euroleague playoffs.

Partizan hosts Real in the first two playoff matches, on Tuesday and Thursday, and then hosts the following Tuesday.

“Real is always the favorite, not only against Partizan but against dozens of clubs. Thanks to the rich past, but then we come to the next thing – it’s been three years now and things are not what they used to be. For many reasons, from various changes, and injuries, they could not organize themselves. Nothing has changed even in the current season, so even if Partizan does not have a better chance than them, it will be an equal rival,’ said Pesic.

The coach of Serbia, Svetliav Pesic, also pointed to the key factor in Real’s oscillations in results this season.

“Madrid’s players are old, many opponents are not physically fit or are injured, so they play hot and cold.” If they were in top form, they would have a better chance against the black and whites, who are in top form. Partizan, unlike Real, is fresh, and playful and there you know exactly who is mowing and who is carrying the water. They may not have an advantage over their famous rival, but they can be equal in the upcoming clashes.’

If necessary, Partizan will host Real in the fourth match, while the potential fifth game would be played in Madrid on May 9.

“In this match, from this perspective, it is unlikely that Real can win three matches, just as it is difficult for Partizan to lose the same number of matches. With this pair, even the advantage of the home field will not be decisive because the black and white have the real home field in the packed Arena,’ concluded Pesic.

Barcelona-Zalgiris, Olympiakos-Fenerbahce and Monaco-Maccabi will play in the remaining three quarter-finals of the Euroleague.
