Mboko, who lifted her first WTA title at the Canadian Open in August, was in complete control from start to finish. The 19-year-old broke serve in the opening game and dropped only three points on serve throughout the first set, wrapping it up in just 25 minutes.
The second set followed a similar pattern, with Mboko’s aggressive baseline play and consistency proving too much for her opponent. A double break midway through the set ensured a comfortable passage into the last eight.
In the quarter finals, Mboko will face either 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina or fellow Canadian Leylah Fernandez in what promises to be a highly anticipated clash.
With her latest dominant performance, Mboko continues to underline her growing reputation as one of the brightest young talents on the WTA Tour.
