Italy’s world number one Jannik Sinner made a strong start to the ATP Finals, beating Alex de Minaur 6-3, 6-4 in his opening match in Turin on Sunday. After the encounter, the 23-year-old, who has won seven tournaments this year including the Australian and US Opens, said he felt in good physical shape after missing the recent Paris Masters with an intestinal problem.
He also said he expected his next match against Taylor Fritz, who beat Daniil Medvedev in his opener, to be “difficult”.
