Roger Federer spoke on behalf of Team Europe.
On Friday, the Swiss played his last career match in doubles with Rafael Nadal and lost, and now he collected all the impressions of the tournament.
-” I didn’t expect to give a speech, so I didn’t prepare anything. Congratulations Team World, you made a great comeback. I was confident before today, but kudos to Johnny Mac and the rest of the team. You deserve it,” says Roger.
Federer had nice words for his team.
-” We enjoyed every moment. It was great, emotional at times, but we all recovered. I hope we didn’t lose because of me. I had a great time and thank you all for that.”
He also thanked Bjorn Borg.
-” Thank you, you are our captain and king and you know it. I love you, I always have fun with you and I can’t wait for next year, I will be there again when I will support both teams, but from a different position. Thanks to Rod Laver for always coming from far away to be here. To us players, your presence means everything,” said Roger Federer, a former player of the “white sport”.
