Novak Djokovic touched on retirement again, but this out it was clear that he is not thinking about it at all.
After a break of almost two and a half months, due to the ban on playing at the US Open, the tennis player from Serbia returned to matches at the Laver Cup, and now continues to play.
-” I feel that I am older than Berrettini, as I am, but I don’t feel so old that I would end my career soon. My body listens and serves me well, and when you turn 35, it’s important to understand that you no longer have the body of a 20-year-old and you have to listen to it, nurture it and take care of it. That’s why I plan my performance calendar smartly, play tournaments that benefit me, and follow the inspiration that makes me, among other things, play for my country,” said Djokovic and continued:
-“ I don’t have a clear plan when I will retire; that decision could depend a lot on how I will “make ends meet” with so many great young aces in the competition in the coming years. What is certain now is that I want to play in the biggest tournaments in the world, and that includes the Grand Slams, as well as some other ATP tournaments.”
Djokovic will play in the tournament in Tel Aviv this week.
