Panathinaikos of Greece and Santa Tecla Nulvi of Italy won their respective Europa Cup qualifying group after a series of positive results. Both the Greeks and the Italians finished first after a series of positive results with their players impressing with some excellent table tennis. They were joined by TTC Radnicki 1972 who won the Serbian derby against Table Tennis Club Zeleznicar 3-0 in the decider. MITTC were also in action as they were defeated 3-2 against Panathinaikos. Despite the strength of the opponents, the Maltese gave a great performance with their player Amir Abbasi standing out after winning every game he played being one of most the successful players in this tournament.
