Malta was represented at the Europe Triathlon Congress 2026, held in Bucharest from 6 to 9 March, by Malta Triathlon Federation General Secretary Warren Muscat and World Triathlon Technical Official Edith Degabriele.
Their participation aimed to strengthen Malta’s presence within the European triathlon community and take part in important discussions about the sport’s development.
During the congress, delegates attended sessions on governance, athlete development, event standards and planning for the next Olympic cycle. This ensured Malta’s views were included in key decisions and future plans.
The event also gave them the chance to meet other federation officials, share ideas and explore possible partnerships to help grow triathlon in Malta.

The congress is also an important platform for countries to bid to host international events. It was confirmed that Malta will host a World Triathlon Technical Official Level 1 Course and a World Triathlon Level 1 Course in 2026, along with other international events in the coming years.
The Malta Triathlon Federation thanked SportMalta for its support in making their participation possible.
