The Malta Rugby Football Union (MRFU) is proud to announce that a representative Sevens squad will compete for the first time in the prestigious Dubai 7s, taking place from 28–30 November 2025. The team will participate in the International Open Category, joining 12 other competitive sides from around the world.
This historic participation marks a significant milestone for Maltese rugby, showcasing the rapid growth and ambition of the national Sevens program. It follows the team’s recent success in claiming the bronze medal at the 2025 Games of the Small States of Europe, a result that has further energised Malta’s rugby community and strengthened the nation’s presence on the international stage.
The MRFU will be taking 13 selected players to represent Malta in Dubai:
