The Brazilian national team was eliminated yesterday, after a penalty shootout, by Croatia in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar. Casemiro and Thiago Silva, for whom this is the last World Cup, were completely broken after the game.

Brazilian footballers Casemiro and Thiago Silva said tonight after their selection was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar that they have to raise their heads and let life go on.

“It’s hard to find words to describe how I feel right now. We have to hold our heads high, we all did our best. We had the match in our hands and then it slipped away,’ said Casemiro after the loss to Croatia, who won after penalties with a total score of 5:3.

Defender Thiago Silva said that his team is not used to conceding goals like that.

“We were a little disoriented and disorganized. It’s hard, but that’s football. Life goes on,’ said Silva.

According to him, the Brazilian team is proud of what it achieved at the World Cup, but defeat is part of football.

“I have experienced some disappointments in my life and a lot of pain when an important goal is not achieved. I’m one of those people who gets up every time I fall, that won’t change today,’ added Silva.
