Yachting Malta BSC International Regatta concludes after four days of racing

The Yachting Malta BSC International Regatta concluded following four days of racing that tested sailors in a range of wind conditions. Competitors faced light airs as well as stronger winds that reached up to 29 knots during the series.

Race management completed a total of ten races for both the ILCA and Optimist classes. Throughout the regatta, officials adapted to changing conditions in order to maximise racing opportunities while maintaining safety standards.

On one of the more demanding days, racing was relocated to the Delimara area to benefit from land shelter. Conditions exceeded forecasts and racing was later suspended, with safety measures prioritised. The final day provided improved conditions, enabling racing to proceed efficiently across two courses and bringing the regatta to a structured conclusion.

The event attracted a strong international fleet, competing alongside Maltese sailors across all classes. Close racing was recorded throughout the ILCA 4, ILCA 6, ILCA 7 and Optimist fleets. Cooperation between clubs, race officials, volunteers and support teams contributed to the delivery of the event.

The organisers thanked all sailors, coaches, officials, volunteers, support crews, parents and media partners. Sponsors included Yachting Malta and Visit Malta, with continued support from SportMalta, Malta Freeport Corporation, Freeport Terminal and Birżebbuġa Local Council.
