The annual Freedom Day Regatta takes place today, with the traditional three-way Shield contest once again between Isla, Bormla, and Birgu.
Both sides will be eager to claim glory, with Birgu having won the Shield in March and Isla taking victory at the September Regatta.
Due to strong winds expected to set in during the afternoon, the Race Committee decided yesterday to bring the schedule forward.
The first race will now start at 10:00 AM, with the last race at 2:10 PM and the prize-giving at 2:30 PM, with the aim of wrapping everything up before the weather turns.
