Malta claimed their first victory in the EuroHockey Championship III after beating Hungary 5-2 in a match where they were clearly the better side.
After losing their opening two games, 9-1 against Ukraine and 3-2 to Bulgaria, Chris Attard’s team came out determined from the start, and their strong performance paid off.

Christ Agius and Thomas Degiovanni each scored twice, while Keith Bajada added another. Hungary replied with goals from Benedez Kosari and Martin Csogo.
Malta have now finished third in their group and will play in the classification matches.
