Audi’s Formula 1 team has announced that British fintech company Revolut will be its title sponsor from 2026 in a major multi-year deal. Audi will officially take over the current Sauber team as they join the F1 grid as a works team in the same year, when new engine rules come into effect.
Revolut, which gained its UK banking licence in 2024 and now serves over 55 million customers, sees the partnership as a chance to grow its brand further and reach new audiences through the global appeal of Formula 1.
Team principal Jonathan Wheatley said the deal came together quickly and will help Audi connect with fans and stand out in the sport. Revolut’s Chief Marketing Officer Antoine Le Nel added that F1 offers huge opportunities to engage with both personal and business customers.
Le Nel compared Audi’s challenge of competing with F1’s top teams to Revolut’s ambition to rival traditional banks. The company hopes to reach 100 million customers by 2027.
Audi also confirmed that Revolut Business will be involved in the team’s financial operations.
Sauber, currently sixth in the constructors’ standings, has scored points in five straight races. The team recently celebrated Nico Hülkenberg’s third-place finish at the British Grand Prix, his first-ever F1 podium.
