According to Facebook Page Swim Up, former San Giljan ASC head coach Zeljko Kovacic has initiated legal action against his former club by filing a Garnishee Order demanding payment of €36,925. Kovacic asserts that he held a valid contract with San Giljan ASC from 1st October 2024 to 30th September 2026. He claims that persistent abusive behaviour from the club led him to resign on 7th May 2025, describing the situation as a case of constructive dismissal.
Swim Up has obtained a copy of the Garnishee Order and has shared it with the club’s General Secretary, Mr Carlo Mifsud. Mr Mifsud responded by stating that he was unaware of the order and thanked Swim Up for bringing it to his attention.
San Giljan ASC, founded in 1949, is one of Malta’s premier aquatic sports clubs, competing in the Maltese Waterpolo Premier League. The club has a rich history, including winning the BOV Premier League in 2022.
