Malta’s National Water polo team win against Israel the other day will surely not be forgotten by any sports enthusiast.
It was the first time that the Malta National Men’s Water polo senior team won a group match at the Aquatics Euros.
The previous two wins in the European Championships that are organised by LEN (now rebranded as European Aquatics) came against Turkey after penalty shots were taken to determine the 15th and 16th place and against Slovenia in Split last year where Malta had won 13-11 in the semi final for the 13th and 14th place classification match.
Malta plays its third game in group C against Serbia on Tuesday 19:00hrs.
