As the Australian Open draws near, Greek tennis sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas has praised Novak Djokovic, highlighting the Serbian’s enhanced skills compared to 2020. Stefanos , yet to secure a Grand Slam title, faced Djokovic in the 2021 French Open and the 2023 Australian Open finals, losing on both occasions.
“Novak is constantly improving; he’s a better Novak Đoković than in 2020. Against Novak, you have to be in the best shape with no excuses. The level of concentration must be at its highest. It’s challenging to find a solution because he employs various strategies, yet plays with simplicity,” remarked Tsitsipas to “The Guardian.”
Describing Djokovic’s exceptional qualities, Tsitsipas praised his flexibility, precision, and surprising service skills despite not being the tallest player on the Tour.
“When we play against Novak, we know what to expect, but there’s little we can do,” added Tsitsipas.
The Australian Open kicks off on January 14, with the draw scheduled for the early hours between Wednesday and Thursday.
