Ta' Xbiex Futsal win Enemed Challenger League

Ta’ Xbiex Futsal won the Enemed Challenger League after beating Birżebbuġa St Peter’s 6-5 after extra-time in a nailbiting final.

After Ta’ Xbiex controlled well in the first half and scored two goals, in the second half Birżebbuġa came back and kept believing until the end so much so that by the end of the regular 40 minutes, the score ended 3-3.

In extra time, the game continued to be maintain its intensity with Ta’ Xbiex re-establishing an advantage but with Birżebbuġa who never gave up even though they did not manage to equalize the score in the last minutes of the game.

Stefi Cale and Liam Caruana scored two goals each with Juan Bautista Conde and George Frendo adding more goals for Ta’ Xbiex.

Birżebbuġa St Peter’s scored through a hat trick from Francesco Ferraro with Kieran Debono and Armando Gjepali who were also on target.

At the end of the match the celebrations by the Ta’ Xbiex clan could start which reached their climax when the FMA vice-presidents Kurt Rizzo and Nathan Jones presented the cup to captain Redeemer Borg.
