New faces and familiar names on the 2026 F1 grid

The 2026 Formula 1 season brings not only major rule changes but also several updated driver pairings. While a number of young drivers arrived last year, this season also sees the return of experienced names such as Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas. Here is a clear guide to every team’s line-up for 2026.

McLaren continue with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Norris, the reigning world champion, and Piastri both have long-term deals. The pair helped McLaren win their first title in 26 years in 2025 and remain key to the team’s future.

Mercedes stick with George Russell alongside young talent Kimi Antonelli. Russell has delivered steady performances, while Antonelli showed promise in his first season. The team believes he has huge potential.

Red Bull keep Max Verstappen as their lead driver, with Isack Hadjar joining as his new teammate. Hadjar replaces Yuki Tsunoda, who moves into a reserve role.

Ferrari field a strong pairing of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Leclerc remains the long-term leader, while Hamilton is expected to improve in his second year with the team. With the new regulations, Ferrari hope to fight at the front.

Williams line up with Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz. Albon has been with the team since 2022, and Sainz finished last season strongly. Both are under contract until the end of 2026.

Racing Bulls will be led by Liam Lawson, joined by rookie Arvid Lindblad, who steps up after just one year in Formula 2.

Aston Martin continue with Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll for a third consecutive season. Alonso is signed until the end of 2026, while Stroll’s place at the team looks secure.

Haas keep the mix of experience and youth with Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman. Ocon added important points last year, and Bearman impressed in his rookie campaign.

Audi, now fully in control after taking over Sauber, run Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto. Hulkenberg enjoyed one of his best seasons last year, while Bortoleto showed encouraging signs as a newcomer.

Alpine retain Pierre Gasly, who is signed until 2028, alongside Franco Colapinto, who will aim to score his first points this season.

New team Cadillac enter Formula 1 with experienced drivers Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas. Both are signed until 2027, and the team will rely on their experience to build a strong start in the sport.

With new cars and fresh partnerships across the grid, the 2026 season is shaping up to be an exciting one before the first race has even begun.
