Ferrari have announced that Fred Vasseur has signed a new multi-year contract to stay on as their Formula 1 team principal, putting an end to rumours about his future with the team.
Vasseur took over the role at the start of 2023 and has played an important part in bringing Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari from Mercedes for this season.
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said in a statement ahead of this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix:
“Today we want to acknowledge what has already been achieved and show our commitment to what still lies ahead. This extension shows the trust we have in Fred’s leadership, a trust based on shared goals, mutual respect, and clear responsibilities.”
