A last-gasp goal from Lucas Villela in the sixth minute of stoppage time gave Hibernians a dramatic 2-1 win over Birkirkara at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
Birkirkara took the lead in the 26th minute through Kemar Reid, and the first half ended 1-0 in their favour.
Hibernians came out stronger in the second half and kept pushing for an equaliser. Their efforts paid off in the 69th minute when Joao Teixeira made it 1-1. Just when it looked like both teams would settle for a draw, Villela struck deep into injury time, beating goalkeeper Miguel Martinez to seal all three points.
With this victory, Hibernians move level with Floriana at the top of the table, both on 7 points from 3 matches.
