Top 6 action in the YoHealth Malta Premier returns today at the National Stadium with two interesting matches. Valletta face Marsaxlokk, while Floriana take on Sliema Wanderers in the Old Firm Derby.
In the first match at 4pm, Valletta will look to get back on track after going four matches without a win. They are currently fourth with 22 points, seven points behind leaders and rivals Floriana. Marsaxlokk come into the match in high spirits after a strong 3-1 win over reigning champions Ħamrun Spartans last week. Enzo Potenza’s side are fifth with 21 points, just one point behind Valletta.
In the second match, league leaders Floriana will aim to take another important step towards winning the Opening Round when they face their long-time rivals Sliema Wanderers in the Old Firm derby at 6:15pm. Floriana are coming off back-to-back wins against Marsaxlokk and Birkirkara and will be looking to maintain their four-point lead at the top.
Sliema Wanderers are also in good form, having won their last two matches against Birkirkara and Valletta. Coach Paul Zammit will be without Murillo, who was sent off against Valletta. Sliema are third with 25 points, level with Ħamrun Spartans and four points behind Floriana.
