Tarxien Rainbows have signed Austrian striker Patrick Schmidt. The 27-year-old centre-forward joins from First Vienna FC in the Second Tier of Austria, after a season where he scored twice in 14 appearances.
Schmidt has played in England for Barnsley and in Denmark for Esbjerg fB, and he has also represented Austria at U21 level.
The Rainbows hope his pace and finishing will help them in the Premier League Closing Round, and the fans were quick to welcome him as the new attacking spark the club has been looking for.
