Tarxien Rainbows will be aiming to turn their fortunes around when they meet Marsaxlokk, following a derby defeat and a narrow 2-1 loss to Valletta, a match in which they had initially taken the lead.
Despite periods of promising play, Tarxien continue to struggle in key moments, showing glimpses of quality but failing to convert them into points. They have twice opened the scoring this season but was unable to secure victory on both occasions, with defensive lapses and a lack of clinical finishing proving costly.
Marsaxlokk, on the other hand, are in search of their first win since Matchday Four. Enzo Potenza’s side began the YoHealth Malta Premier League campaign brightly but have since faltered, losing successive games to title contenders Floriana and Ħamrun Spartans before being held to a tactical stalemate by Birkirkara.
One bright spark for the South Seasiders has been the emergence of Redon Mihana, whose influence in midfield continues to grow. The Albanian has impressed with his ability to link defence and attack, drive his team forward, and create goal-scoring chances through incisive passing and assists.

Tarxien, however, will look to exploit the pace and flair of Tavinho and Ofufu Ibeh on the flanks, two players capable of unsettling even the most organised defences. Their duel against Marsaxlokk’s midfield engine and defensive unit promises to be decisive.
Both teams enter the contest aware that three points could provide a much-needed boost, for Tarxien, a chance to convert potential into results, and for Marsaxlokk, an opportunity to rediscover the winning rhythm that marked their early-season form.
