Following the news that Ghanaian forward Seth Paintsil’s brief time at Birkirkara came to an end after just a few weeks, and reports suggesting that coach Stefano De Angelis was unhappy with his physical condition, the player took to social media to set the record straight.
In his statement, Paintsil dismissed rumours about his physical condition being a reason for his departure, calling it an attempt to damage his reputation.
The former Hamrun Spartans player explained that the real reason for leaving Birkirkara was that the club did not honour the terms they had initially agreed upon. This led to a mutual decision to terminate the contract.
He concluded his statement by emphasising his belief in respect and trust, which he believes should be the foundation of any professional relationship.
