Birkirkara clinched their second consecutive victory in the YoHealth Malta Premier, with a narrow 1-0 win over Naxxar Lions, courtesy of an early goal from Franklin Sasere in the fifth minute.
The decisive moment came when Kemar Reid delivered a precise cross into the box, finding Sasere, who finished with a first-time strike to beat Naxxar goalkeeper Matthias Debono. The goal proved enough to secure all three points for Birkirkara, who now sit mid-table with 9 points, level with Marsaxlokk.
Despite the defeat, Naxxar Lions delivered a spirited performance, pushing hard in search of an equaliser until the final whistle. However, Birkirkara’s defence remained resolute and successfully protected their slim lead.
