Sliema Wanderers won the derby against Gżira United with a 2-0 victory. It was their third win of the season after two draws in a row.
Gżira’s poor start to the season continued, as they are still without a win after six matches. This was their third loss so far.
Sliema took the lead in the 16th minute when Roko Prsa scored with a header from a great cross by Thiago Espindola. It was Prsa’s first goal for Sliema.
Gżira tried to fight back in the second half, but it was Sliema who scored again. Fernandinho, who as well for him this was the first goal with Sliema, found the net after a good pass from Diarra.
