Sliema Wanderers head coach Paul Zammit has been recognised for his outstanding leadership during April, a month in which his side delivered a strong series of results in the Maltese Premier League.
Zammit guided Sliema to notable victories over Birkirkara, Floriana and Mosta, while also earning a valuable point in a tightly contested draw against Ħamrun Spartans. His influence has been pivotal in Sliema’s impressive run of form and their resurgence as a competitive force this season.
The recognition was presented pitch-side on Sunday evening, shortly before Sliema faced Birkirkara in the Premier League Final Four semi-final. Despite a valiant performance, Sliema fell just short, conceding the decisive goal against Birkirkara in the 122nd minute of extra time in a heartbreaking loss.
Although the campaign ended in narrow defeat, Zammit’s impact throughout the season remained clear. He brought tactical discipline, stability and renewed belief to the squad, earning widespread respect from supporters and football observers alike.
His Premier League season concludes on a high note, having steered Sliema Wanderers back into the conversation among the league’s top sides, laying strong foundations for the future.
