According to TVM Sport, Ħamrun Spartans are reportedly very close to finalizing a significant deal with the experienced Italian coach Paolo Tramezzani, who is expected to take charge of the team for the upcoming football season. Tramezzani brings with him a wealth of experience both as a player and as a coach.
During his playing career, he featured for several well-known clubs including Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur, two of Europe’s biggest football teams. His time at these clubs gave him invaluable exposure to top-level football and a deep understanding of the tactical and technical aspects of the game.
In addition to his playing career, Tramezzani has considerable coaching experience. He served as an assistant coach for the Albanian national team under Gianni De Biasi between 2011 and 2016. This role allowed him to develop his coaching philosophy and gain insight into managing teams at the international level. Moreover, Tramezzani has been the head coach of several clubs across Europe, including Swiss teams Lugano and Sion, Italian sides Livorno, and Croatian club Hajduk Split. These diverse experiences have equipped him with the skills to handle different leagues and football cultures, making him a strong candidate to lead Ħamrun Spartans.
Tramezzani is expected to replace Winston Muscat, who recently delivered remarkable success by guiding Ħamrun Spartans to their third consecutive league title. Muscat’s tenure was highly successful, but the club appears ready to take a new direction with Tramezzani’s appointment. Alongside this coaching change, Ħamrun Spartans are also reportedly working on an exciting reciprocal player exchange deal with a Serie A club in Italy. Such a deal could bring new talent into the squad while providing opportunities for players to gain experience abroad, potentially strengthening the team’s competitiveness for the season ahead.
This move signals Ħamrun Spartans’ ambition to maintain and even build upon their dominance in Maltese football, aiming to compete not only domestically but also to make an impact in European competitions.
The club and its supporters will be eager to see how Tramezzani’s leadership influences the team’s performance in the near future.
