In the last YoHealth Malta Premier League match on Sunday, Naxxar Lions will play against Floriana at the National Stadium at 21:00.
Last season, Naxxar Lions only just managed to stay in the top league, after a tough year, by winning a play-off match against Melita.
Naxxar Lions have strengthened their squad by signing Juan Hernandez, Mariano Silva Batista, Christian Nganmini, Rosiel Pereira, Alessandro Firmoni, Vitinho, Amiel Guehi, Neto, Christian Gauci from Valletta, and Mark Fenech, who has returned to the team.
Meanwhile, Floriana, who reached the second qualifying round of the Conference League before being knocked out by Kosovo’s FC Ballkani, have made big changes to their foreign players. They’ve added, among others, goalkeeper Guilherme Cioletti, Iago Mendonça, Aljon Damini, Federico Varela, Lucas Lopez, Chico Teixeira, Charles M’Mombwa, and striker Mustapha Jah.
The last meeting between the two finished in a 4-0 win for the Greens.
