Marsaxlokk FC have announced the signing of Tunisian defender Oualid El Hasni, adding strength and experience to their back line ahead of the new Maltese Premier League season. El Hasni, born on 9 August 1993, brings with him a wealth of international experience and a career that has taken him across several European and North African leagues.
The 30-year-old most recently played for Floriana FC, establishing himself as a reliable presence in defence. His move to Marsaxlokk marks the latest chapter in a career that began in France, where he came through the youth system at AS Cannes. He then moved to Germany, joining the U17 squad of Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
El Hasni’s professional career includes stints in Italy with Monza and Triestina, the latter of which he joined in 2017 after a spell with Tunisian giants Étoile du Sahel. His time in Italy provided him with valuable experience in the physically demanding Serie C, complementing his tactical development in North Africa and Europe.
Marsaxlokk described El Hasni as a defender with “strength, positioning, and leadership”, qualities they believe will be crucial in a campaign where the club aims to improve on its recent performances. His signing forms part of a broader recruitment strategy focused on experience and stability.
