In the second match of Matchday 9 in the YoHealth Malta Premier League, two struggling teams, Gżira United and Tarxien Rainbows, face each other. Both sides have only won once so far this season.
Gżira’s only win came just before the international break, when they beat Mosta 4-3 in an exciting game. This was also Darren Abdilla’s first match back as coach after Clive Mizzi left, and the team will be hoping his return can help them climb the league table.
Tarxien, meanwhile, have been unlucky in many games this season, but now need to start winning again. Their only victory so far came against Naxxar Lions in September.
The last time these two teams met was in the 2020/21 season, when Gżira, also led by Abdilla, won 2-0.
