In Sunday’s first match from the YoHealth Malta Premier League, Żabbar St. Patrick and Hibernians played out an exciting and evenly matched 2-2 draw.
Żabbar took the lead in the 32nd minute. After a free kick by Gambarte, Jake Micallef’s header was saved well by Haber, but Cejas Pedro reacted quickly and scored from the rebound.
In the first minute of added time before half-time, Hibernians equalised. Miullen set up Bjorn Kristensen, who hit a powerful shot from the edge of the box into the top corner of the net.
In the 58th minute, Hibernians went ahead thanks to a brilliant long-range goal from Pedro Cacho Alves.
With ten minutes to go, Żabbar’s efforts paid off when substitute Gomes Da Mata scored the equaliser.
A minute before the final whistle, Żabbar were reduced to ten men after Korean player Im Youngwon was shown a red card.
