Hibernians and Żabbar St Patrick open their Matchday 14 commitments on Thursday evening as they face off at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in the Opening Round of the Bottom 6 of the YoHealth Malta Premier.
The Paolites come into the encounter aiming to build on their recent 1-0 victory over Tarxien Rainbows, a result that saw them strengthen their position near the top of the Bottom 6 standings. Cleiton’s second-half strike proved decisive in a tightly contested ‘Derby of the South’, a match marked by intensity and the use of Football Video Support, which overturned two first-half goals.
Żabbar St Patrick, meanwhile, shared the points with Mosta in a 1-1 draw last time out. The Saints produced a strong first-half display and took the lead through Jurgen Pisani, but were unable to hold on after the break as Mosta found an equaliser. The result left Żabbar level on points with Mosta and comfortably clear of the relegation zone.
The two sides previously shared the points in a 2-2 draw earlier this season.
