As exclusively reported by Malta Sport last week, reigning champions Ħamrun Spartans has officially signed 26-year-old Italian defender Vincenzo Polito.
Polito has plenty of experience in Italian football. He began his youth career at Juve Stabia and Frattese, then moved to Castelvetro. After that, he played for ACR Messina, followed by spells at Gela, Cavese, and Casertana.
He later joined Monterosi, Viterbese, and Potenza, before returning to ACR Messina. Most recently, he played for SPAL and Lecco during the 2024/25 season.
This signing is another important step for Modica as he puts the final touches on his squad ahead of their UEFA Champions League First Qualifying Round match against Zalgiris of Lithuania on 9th July. The first leg will be played in Lithuania.
